Mentor Responsibilities |

MENTOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Discuss with your student(s) the content of each course (both lectures and reading assignments). The program registrar will provide a copy of the course syllabus to each mentor. After review of course syllabus with student(s), determine which practicum experience the student(s) will do. Provide primary leadership of the four-hour additional practicum for each course. The Practicum options for each course are based on assignments made by the course professor in order for the student(s) to practice the course theme in the life of the church Mentors oversee student(s) timely accomplishment of the practicum and other course assignment(s) prior to the start of the next course (there is normally about 5-6 weeks between courses). Practicum/Fieldwork has a 4-hour requirement per course. Mentors communicate to the program registrar whether the student(s) has “completed” or has “not completed” the practicum assignment The program registrar notifies the professor of whether the student (s) practicum assignment is “complete” or “incomplete”. Then the course Professor assigns a final grade based on a “completed” practicum and course paper: Connect with your student(s) regularly between courses Set a regular time and place for meeting, namely by phone/email weekly and preferable meet face to face pray with the student(s) on a regular basis Encourage student(s) participation in life of his/her church Each student(s) will take a “spiritual gift” inventory Encourage their ministry focus be spiritual gift related! Prayerfully discern with the student(s) his/her role in the evangelistic mission of the church
